Key Responsibilities:
? Qualified to work independently on ATS preventative maintenance, startup and basic troubleshooting

? Track time entry and expenses accurately, consistently and timely
? Capable of assisting with installation of 480VAC/12.47KVAC, switchgear, ATS, circuit breakers and generator system controls.
? Providing technical support for field startups (standard & non-standard systems), warranty efforts, remedial repairs and preventative maintenance contracts
? Supervising and ensuring compliance with all safety policies, procedures, guidelines and laws.
? Applicant must carry a cell phone and be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Shift: Typical standard daytime salary hours Monday – Friday; otherwise as an exception based on plant operations. The Central Energy Plant is 24/7 operations, so there may be a very rare overnight or requirement to work outside normal operating hours in the event of an emergency.

Position Description: The Central Energy Plant Manager manages all aspects, including all day-to-day operations and maintenance, of the University's Power Plant and complex, mission critical heating, power and chilled water production facilities via a staff of ~35 salaried and hourly union (IUOE) employees to provide safe, reliable and efficient steam, electric and chilled water to all Ithaca campus facilities. Reporting to the Director of Utilities and Production, you will be one of two plant managers, with a staff of 30 technicians, operators, and support staff and three supervisors. Your key responsibilities will be:
• All day-to-day operations – leading, managing, and owning all aspects of safety, operations, and maintenance – essentially running the Plant like you were running a ship. (Typically, ~80% of the job!)
• Managing all complex systems with technical/engineering knowledge/experience and having a hands-on approach – being out with and supporting the mechanics & operators for all power plant operations.
• All environmental, health, and safety regulations.

• The $40M Operations & Maintenance (O&M) budget – creating, executing, and all results.

You should also understand ASME IX and strength in engineering metallurgy of material properties, material specifications, pre and post heat-treatment requirements, brazing as well as knowledge of critical weld joints and hard surfacing deposits.
