Position Description:

The Chassis Mechanic will perform mechanical repairs and inspections in both a depot/repair facility environment as well as roadside environment. The employee will perform all types of chassis repairs including brakes and wheel end repairs, welding (experience preferred but not required), cutting with a torch and repairing and replacing parts on the chassis using standard repair tools. Repairs will be performed to FMCSA standards.

Troubleshoot and repair all chassis defects
Repair lights, tires, flaps, safety latches, troubleshoot ABS and more
Including ABS systems; air brake systems, wheels end, and structural assemblies
Use of mobile app to log work orders and document repairs
Use of a Mobile truck to drive to locations and complete repairs to company chassis

Requirements:

3+ years of experience as a Diesel or Chassis Mechanic
FMCSA and brake certifications required
Knowledge of DOT rules and criteria
Ability to work independently, efficiently and without direct supervision
Must be willing to work outside and capable of lifting 50 lbs
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Additional Requirements:
Company requires a background check including an MVR and a drug test that must be 100% negative (no CBD either). They cannot bring on candidates with DUIs in the past 3 years. The Project Engineer will be responsible for the engineered items including procurement as outlined in the detailed responsibilities listed below.

The Company will provide sufficient training for all new Project Engineers to help them understand the processes, systems and business models that exist, so that they have the necessary technical aptitude to execute their work efficiently and effectively. The amount of training time devoted will depend on the person’s background, however it is expected that a college graduate will require additional training when compared to a person with work experience. A fully competent UPS Field Technician applies an intensive and diversified knowledge of complete UPS start-up, testing and operations. Responsible for installation, commissioning, maintaining, repairing, and providing emergency support on Batteries, Chargers, Inverters, Static Switches, and Maintenance Bypass Switches for Commercial, Telecom, and Industrial systems at customers' sites.
