Position Details:
Title: Supply Chain Buyer
Location: Houston, TX
Shift: M-F Day
Compensation: $70-$80K
Benefits: Full benefits plan through BCBS and the company pays 77% of the expense.
401K (1% for first 3% and ½% for next 2% for a total of 4% if the EE contributes 5% or more.
$50K life insurance policy, STD and LTD at the company’s expense.
2 weeks of vacation, 3 sick days and 2 personal days along with 11 holidays a year as PTO.
Position Description: Responsibilities include:
Enter goods, services, and vendor data into ERP systems and review requisitions.
Confer with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
Select products for purchase by reviewing pre-approved vendors, consulting with engineering and market availability.
Review bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
Execute purchase order in SAP, and ensure all engineering specifications are met, and all applicable documents are included.
Maintain procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
Interface with company’s engineering, production/quality and expedite deliverables from suppliers.
Continuously evaluate supplier’s performance and market conditions, and look for improved pricing, delivery, or service.
Requirements:
5-7 years experience as buyer/procurement specialist preferably in manufacturing
