Compensation: Compensation packages and starting wages vary widely, but it is well-known that careers in the

Maintenance Technician – as an Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repair to facility and production equipment within different areas of the mill. You will be part of the Steel Workers Union workforce that has a tremendous relationship with management throughout the mill. Candidates must have strong troubleshooting and repair skills, and should have experience with the troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of electrical or mechanical systems within industrial equipment, facilities, automated systems, and other mechanical/engineering systems. Mechanical systems include hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication, power transmission systems, conveyors, compressors, pumps, cranes, piping, structural, and mobile equipment. Electrical systems include motors, controls, motor controls, PLCs, MCCs, AC/DC systems, electrical schematics, analog electronics, AC/DC electrical drives, power conversion, instrumentation, and computer hardware. Ideal candidates will have good mechanical and electronic troubleshooting skills and be creative problem solvers.

Requirements: Candidates must have a high-school diploma or GED. Candidates must have the maintenance experience outlined in the position description above in the military, or in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
