CVS Health is a pharmacy innovation company with a simple and clear purpose: Bringing our heart to every moment of your health™
CVS Health recognizes the value of military service and knows that our veterans' skills and experience are unparalleled. With millions of service members transitioning out of the military over the next few years, we're committed to hiring qualified veterans, current Guard and Reserve members, and military spouses across all parts of our business.
As part of our commitment to supporting our nation's military, CVS Health is taking part in the Joining Forces initiative. This White House program asks companies to give service members and their families job opportunities and support. Through this program, CVS Health has committed to hiring veterans and military spouses for 25 percent of our new hires in logistics and distribution centers, which equates to roughly 1,000 jobs.
With more than 300,000 dedicated colleagues including veterans, Guard and Reserve members, and military spouses, we are improving the health of communities across America. As a result, CVS Health established BRAVE, a national colleague resource group. BRAVE works to support veterans in our communities and create a veteran-welcoming work environment. The group's goals are to support programs that honor veterans and their families and to make CVS Health an industry-recognized employer of veterans.
CVS Health is recognized as one of the top employers of military, veterans, and their families by organizations such as DiversityInc, the Rhode Island Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), and the Secretary of Defense. It is not about what you want to do when you get out of the military. It is about where will you find purpose when you get out of the military. When you get out, if you do not find a role that gives you purpose, you will have a difficult time transitioning out of the military. The purpose is what will get you through the sense of loss you will go through after exiting service.
