Position Details
Location: Birmingham, AL
Compensation: $28 - $36/hr plus OT. Bi-yearly profit share bonus. $3 shift differential for weekend shifts. Relocation available based on experience and location.
Shift: Starts on Day Shift 10 hr. shift, 4 days a week 6:30AM – 4:30PM (Mon-Thurs, Tues – Fri, Wed – Sat, Thurs – Sun options) plus avail OT. $3 shift differential for any weekend shift. Moves to 12/hr rotating shift after 3 months or more, depending on candidate progression.
Benefits: Day 1 benefits, Medical, Vision, Dental, 80 hours PTO (after 90 Days), 401K with company match, company paid disability.

Position Description
As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will work with a strong team to maintain steel production in a steel mill processing plant in Birmingham, AL. You will utilize your fundamental knowledge of bearings, hydraulics/pneumatics, lubrication, drive chains, welding principles, rigging, gearboxes, and mobile equipment operation. You will determine grades and sizes of bolts, pipes, tubing, cables, and wires while interpreting blueprints, drawings, and schematics. You will be required to monitor and inspect equipment for defects and properly remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, overhead cranes, hand tools, and power tools.

Position Requirements
• Minimum 3 years industrial maintenance experience or military training.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in welding.
• Experience installing gear boxes.
• Experience installing drive chains and bearings.
• Experience with fabrication is desirable.
• Experience with overhead cranes. (on tracks) preferred.
