Position Description: Unless you have steel industry manufacturing experience, you must be capable of moving into an environment where you have the least product knowledge and industry experience yet are the responsible maintenance technician who must produce quality results to keep production rolling. You will be working with a group of experienced steel workers along the path to high productivity and excellence, while mastering the overall aspects of the steel business at the front-line maintenance level. Due to the nature of the business, the facilities operate 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, 365 days/year. Therefore, this position?may require work outside of normal hours during plant shutdown and any unplanned/unforeseen outages.



As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repair to facility and production equipment within different areas of the mill. You will be part of the United States Steel Workers Union workforce that has a tremendous relationship with management throughout the mill. Candidates must have strong troubleshooting and repair skills, and should have experience with the troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems within industrial equipment, facilities, automated systems, and other mechanical/engineering systems. Electrical systems include motors, controls, motor controls, PLCs, MCCs, AC/DC systems, electrical schematics, analog electronics, AC/DC electrical drives, power conversion, instrumentation, and computer hardware. Ideal candidates will have good mechanical and electronic troubleshooting skills and be creative problem solvers.



Requirements: Candidates must have a high-school diploma or GED.
