Job Description

Position Details:

Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Three Rivers, MI

Shift: This is a union facility, and your shift is not guaranteed, but there are openings on all shifts! (1st: 6a-2p; 2nd: 2p-10p; 3rd: 10p-6a)

Compensation: $40/hr starting pay + OT! Pay increases are outlined in your contract.

Position Description:

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will perform work within a union environment as dispatched to maintain equipment, systems, and processes to support manufacturing production.

Ability to read blueprints (bearing stack up, hydraulic systems)
Hydraulic Cylinder and Pump removal, rebuild, and replacement.
Hydraulic System troubleshooting.
Ability to check for backlash in a ball screw by using an indicator, also the removal & accurate bearing set up and installation of the ball screw assembly.
Realign turret heads, spindles, chucks, etc. using an indicator. Spindle removal, rebuild, and replacement.
Ability to read and understand hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical prints.
Experience with metal removal processes and equipment preferred.
Equipment installation experience preferred.
Experience with sheet metal fabrication preferred.
Proficient in welding – stick, mig, and tig preferred.
Ability to perform rigging requirements.
Experience in automation of conveyors (power and free) and material handling equipment, is preferred.
Solid working knowledge of pneumatic and water operating systems.
Ability to rebuild pneumatic cylinders and make valve repairs.
Be able to read and troubleshoot pneumatic drawings.
Air Logix knowledge is recommended.
Ability to work well in teams and with management.
Ability to operate a fork truck, scissor lift, and articulating boom lift.
Familiarization with HVAC controls and troubleshooting techniques.


Requirements:

Looking for experienced maintenance mechanics – military experience counts! If you served 4+ years in the military as a maintenance technician on ships, planes, or tanks or have a similar experience completing all or some of the required tasks, then this is for you!

Available to work overtime and flexible schedule as required within the union facility agreement.
Available to work any shift as required.
Ability to pass pre-employment physical including drug testing
High school diploma or equivalent.
Possess a certified journeyperson’s card (or similar contractual Journeyperson status) or documentation of eight years minimum of experience in a specific trade from previous employers on company letterhead to be competitive as a civilian applicant.

• Communicate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors for scheduling
• Manage commercial construction projects from pre-construction to project completion, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget
• Monitor project progress and communicate with clients, subcontractors, and project team members to meet project goals.
• Prepare close-out documents such as warranties, punch lists, and close-out packages. Ensuring punch lists are completed promptly.
• Generate monthly billings and ensure billing goals are met. Monitor and measure quantities to ensure accurate billings.
• Facilitate communication between the estimator, superintendent, and foreman to provide comprehensive weekly job summaries for meetings.

Requirements:

• Minimum education level of a bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field
• The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience as a commercial construction estimator and project management and principles in the DOT space.
• Understanding of construction methods, materials, and costs
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications
• Ability to budget, schedule, negotiate, and control costs.
• A high degree of familiarity with contract and subcontract documents, terms, and conditions
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
