David Casey and Mara Motherway Join Orion Talent's Board of Managers
Admired industry leaders bring unique DE&I, business management, and public policy insights to Orion Talent
CARY, N.C., August 16, 2022-- Orion Talent, a provider of military, diversity, and RPO solutions, has announced the appointment of diversity expert David Casey and public policy authority Mara Motherway to its board of managers. Unwavering advocates for military talent, David and Mara are both Veterans and bring accomplished histories in organizational leadership to Orion. Their experience and insights will help guide Orion’s growth as a leading provider of diversity hiring solutions.
"I am honored to welcome Mara and David to our board at a time when our nation is so deeply challenged by its need for ready-now talent, especially in technical disciplines," said Orion Talent CEO Sarah Peiker. "Mara has a rare blend of proven business management and national security expertise, coupled with a broad background in public policy, that gives her a unique ability to align veteran experience with corporate priorities and talent needs. David is an admired trailblazer in workplace diversity and has had an extraordinary impact on advancing enterprise DE&I. We look forward to their guidance as we continue to grow our solutions for diversity and veteran hiring, military spouse employment, and upskilling."
Mara Motherway, Senior Vice President of Government and Customer Relations at Peraton, the world’s leading mission capability integrator and transformative enterprise IT provider, began her term on Orion’s Board earlier this year. "Growing our economy is critical to our national security and it starts with having a readily available and trained workforce," said Motherway. "Orion delivers this workforce and goes a step further with its deep passion for ensuring transitioning veterans and military spouses are recognized for the promise they bring to our workforce ecosystem. Their commitment is unmatched and has been an inspiration for me."
Before joining the industry, Motherway served on active duty as a U.S. naval officer for over two decades. Her diverse experience spans combat operations in the Middle East, acquisition oversight for U.S. government satellite and special communications, and legislative affairs director for the Defense Intelligence Agency.
David Casey, Chief Inclusion and Social Impact Officer at Tapestry, Inc., also joined Orion’s Board this year. Formerly Senior Vice President, Workforce Strategies and Chief Diversity Officer at CVS Health, Casey also served on the board of the American Lung Association and as an appointee to U.S. Secretary of Labor’s Advisory Council on Apprenticeship.
"Orion's purpose and strategy bring together two parts of my professional life that are near and dear to my heart: my eight years of service in the U.S. Marine Corps and my 20 years as a chief diversity officer," said Casey. "I look forward to helping Orion Talent's leadership continuously prioritize the value Orion brings to both military veterans and other diverse talent and delivering those services in a customer-centric way."
